Frequently asked questions
Moore Flooring + Design has been London’s family-owned flooring store since 1989. If your question isn’t answered here, call us on 519-601-5275 or drop into the showroom on Hyde Park Road.
Do you install flooring, or just sell it?
We do both. Many people visit us with the perception that we are just a flooring shop, but we do much more than that. We assist you in selecting the right type and carry out the installation, so your project is completed successfully.
How much does flooring installation cost in London, Ontario?
Installation costs depend on the material used, the area being covered and the preparation of the subfloor. We never have surprises in our estimates. Whether it is one room or an entire house, we are glad to take you through every cost factor so you can plan with confidence.
Can I visit your showroom to see samples in person?
Absolutely. You are welcome to visit our showroom in London and choose from a great selection of textures, colours and patterns. Our team will walk you through samples and options so you can make the right decision for your style and space.
Do you install engineered hardwood flooring?
Yes, we install engineered hardwood. It’s a great choice for main floors and living spaces without moisture, but not recommended for basements. Proper installation includes acclimation and moisture testing for lasting results.
Is solid hardwood flooring a better option than engineered wood?
Solid hardwood flooring is a timeless choice. It can be refinished several times, increasing your home’s value. While engineered options have their benefits, we will help you weigh the pros and cons, taking into account your lifestyle, climate and budget.
Is hardwood flooring durable for busy homes with kids or pets?
Definitely. The trick is to select the right species and finish, as some woods are more wear-and-tear-resistant than others. We usually suggest a matte or wire-brushed finish to conceal minor scuffs and paw prints.
Do you offer carpets that are stain-proof and pet-friendly?
Yes, we deal in modern carpet solutions that are stain-proof, durable and suitable for pets. The majority of our collections are covered by strong manufacturer warranties and are made to withstand daily mishaps. You do not need to compromise between comfort and practicality.
What are the benefits of carpet in high-traffic areas?
Busy areas such as family rooms and hallways are excellent places to use carpet. Proper installation helps carpet hold up better in high-traffic areas and feel more comfortable underfoot. We offer many choices, all of them stain-resistant and durable.
How often should carpet be professionally cleaned?
Manufacturers require your carpet to be professionally steam cleaned every 12 to 18 months to prolong its life and keep your warranty active. Regular maintenance also helps your indoor air quality and prevents the carpet’s appearance from deteriorating prematurely.
How is luxury vinyl plank different from real hardwood?
Luxury vinyl plank can appear almost the same as hardwood at first sight, but it is much more practical. It is constructed using high-performance materials that do not absorb water, scratch or wear out easily, making it a better option for busy households or anyone with pets or kids.
Can luxury vinyl flooring be used in a bathroom or laundry room?
Yes, and that is one of the reasons people love it so much. Wherever you have to deal with splashes, whether in the bathroom or steam in the laundry room, luxury vinyl flooring will give you peace of mind.
